Members shared mixed experiences with Head and Shoulders products for seborrheic dermatitis, with some finding relief from Head and Shoulders Bare due to its minimal ingredients, while others reported that products stopped working over time or worsened their symptoms. Several members described alternating between multiple shampoos including Neutrogena T/Sal, ciclopirox, and Jason's Tea Tree, with one member finding success using ciclopirox products in a rotation that led to visible clearing after two weeks. A recurring theme was the challenging nature of seborrheic dermatitis symptoms including sticky flakes, intense itching, crawling sensations, and redness, with members acknowledging that what works varies greatly from person to person.

Candi, I have tried basically all & no relief, but I also do have the Prurigo Nodularis and Lichen Simplex Chronicus, and now the SD. I just tried Jason's Tree Tea Shampoo last evening & it gave me somewhat more relief than the one I use which is the Neutrogena T/Sal. Though it might be too soon to really tell, but so far so good. Yes, my scalp is red & flakey, but the flakes are like stuck on the scalp which makes it itch horribly. Good luck in trying to find one that will finally give you some much needed relief! After reading some of the tips on this great support group, I might alternate the ones that somewhat do help me. After 16 years of dealing with these diseases I am for sure insane in the membrane, LOL! 😱

Hi Lisa, the Jason's Tea Tree Shampoo ended up making my scalp worse! I am returning it and just going to keep using just Neutrogena T/Sal.

No my face. I use the ciclopirox solution around my hairline and sides. Van cream is very thick and im using it on my face and neck. As I stated, it will dry your face up quick. Around the scalp and sides I use the ciclopirox solution around mt sides and hair line.

Hi Mary, did you use the vancream on your scalp?

Great products, which one are you using? I use alternately head and shoulders, the t/sal cold tar, head and shoulders bare, ciclopirox wash, shampoo, and cream, and this is week two, I'm liking the ciclopirox products. My skin is really drying out and my husband looked today and said, you’re clearing up. I was elated. My skin is peeling and I’m using the van cream for sensitive skin for dryness. I am saying the products are working for me. I’m getting very positive feedback.
