The culture is taken almost like a Covid test. He wants to make sure that I am not a staph carrier. I didn't ask what would happen if I tested positive. I am scared. I just had cataract surgery in November and January and I don't want an infection in my eyes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Update: I was tested to see if I was a staph carrier and I am. I was prescribed Mupirocin ointment 2% to be used the first 3 days of every month. This ointment is supposed to cure the staph infection.
