What I like about the one I use is that it is not a powder. The grains are in a gel-like substance so it is not terribly drying. I have used some before that are grains that you mix with water. I found those harsher.
Good luck with your trials!!

Hi Art
I have always used one. My skin is oily, and I find that it helps with my oily skin and with the dermatitis. I use Philosophy's Microdelivery daily exfoliating system, pretty much daily. It works for me.
Best,
Karen
Great question! When your skin is actively irritated or flaring, exfoliating can make things a bit worse. Give it time to calm down first.
Once the irritation has settled, a konjac sponge is a gentle option worth trying. It's soft enough for sensitive, reactive skin and provides mild physical exfoliation without disrupting the barrier.
For chemical exfoliation, urea is one of the best options for sebderm-prone skin specifically — it loosens dead skin cells while hydrating at the same time, which is exactly what a compromised barrier needs. Worth looking for it in a formula that also addresses the Malassezia side of things, since exfoliating without managing the yeast tends to just clear the surface temporarily.
Hi Karen, thanks for the post. Recently read an article on exfoliants--they mentioned something negative. First I ever heard of a negative remark on them.
.... I think what they were saying is that some exfoliants may actually be harsh on the skin.🤷♂️
Have a good one!⭐
