I tried the other day and it was taking like twice as long to blow dry my hair. I gave up and uses a regular blow dryer after it was about half way dry. I had it to n highest heat too. I'm thinking it's not for me. I was disappointed because I thought it would be a good way to put tension in my hair and free up a hand. So IDK don't think I'm going to try it again.
I have a great brush dryer for my hair. I start out with a regular dryer to get most of the moisture and then finish with the brush dryer to smooth and style.
The science is there for the heat to help it along but I have never really been that successful with it. Talk to your derm-guy -- ask him for a mild shampoo. Normally anti-fungal.
That sounds frustrating, especially when you had high hopes for it! The good news is that sticking with a regular blow dryer might actually be better for your scalp anyway.
