Question: Can hydrocortisone cream with aloe be applied to the scalp before shampooing?

While hydrocortisone with aloe can help with flaking and irritation, it's important to talk to your healthcare provider before applying any new topical treatments to your scalp. They can ensure it won't interfere with your current treatment plan or cause additional irritation. If you're looking to moisturize and treat your scalp before shampooing, here are some gentler alternatives that have worked for others:

• Apply natural oils for up to 3 hours before washing
• Create a gentle hair mask using aloe vera gel, apple cider vinegar, and honey
• Use warm (not hot) water when washing
• Consider medicated shampoos containing ingredients like ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione

Remember to patch test any new treatment on a small area first to check for sensitivity.
