While coconut oil can be beneficial for some people with seborrheic dermatitis, it's important to be cautious. Some individuals may experience clogged pores and hair follicles when using products containing oils. Additionally, coconut oil may actually encourage yeast overgrowth in some cases, particularly in Black individuals.

The best approach would be to:
• Do a patch test first to check for any negative reactions
• Consult with your dermatologist before using any new product
• Consider that antidandruff shampoos and antifungal treatments are typically more effective for managing seborrheic dermatitis If you decide to try the shampoo, look for minimal additives and avoid products with fragrances or harsh chemicals that could irritate your skin. Remember that what works for one person may not work for another, so monitor your skin's response carefully.
