Xylitol is a natural sweetener. It’s found in the sugar section. I just mix about a tablespoon to maybe 1/2 cup of water and brush it on my scalp. Then I rotate out medicine that kills it: lotriman, sulfate, whatever. I’ve tried many antifungals but nothing had worked. The medicine could not get through the biofilm.

Birch sweetener XYLITOL. It breaks up the biofilm by confusing the microbes that cause sd. It won’t kill them though so I immediately follow the xylitol with a variation of antifungals. This has given me improvement, relief, rest, and hope. After 9 years my hair is coming back.

You might try mixing about a tablespoon or so (I don't ever measure it, I just pour some in my hand) of baking soda in with some of whatever kind,of shampoo you are using and shampoo with it. It might cut the film on your scalp. I know it will cut built up product from your hair, so it might cut the film on your scalp.
