It has been slowing down now. I have no more itching, haven't had any for some time now. Will it ever go away?
A prescription from my dermatologist for clobetasol propionate 0.05% 25ml applied to my scalp and ears at bedtime for 2 weeks, then 2 to 3 times weekly thereafter made it all get better and seem to go away. I also shampooed 2-3 times a week with Head And Shoulders then. Soon after I bought and used T/Gel original formula and got it all back on my head, face and ears. Then I started all over again with the original use of the clobetasol routine. So now it is gone in my ears, almost gone on my face and I continue to use it on my head in a few places just in case and use Head and Shoulders Green Apple again. I hope this helps!
Nothing works to control my hair and inside my ears and behind my ears I have heavy scaling
@A MySebDermTeam Member I lost most of my hair-mostly all over and its now growing back. But I had 3 rounds of steroids before Blue Cross Blue Shield would approve Dupixent. I have it all over my body and different parts of my body breaking out and being like I was lit on fire and have to cover in ice. Steroid drops would stop the ulcers oozing on my head. Dupixent is drying it up but it started so thick with hard scales it felt like an alligators back. To help it, I found a bottle of castro oil mixed with Mango butter (at Dollar General of all places). It smelled amazing. It was a liquid and I would squeeze it around my scalp and rub it in. I then wrapped my head in a bandana wrap and sleep in it. Of course my hair stood on end and I'd have to wash it but I would gently rub the scales that wanted to come off. I'd do every night. It started to work and heal.
Will it ever go away? Good question. I have doctors and dermatologists tell me for most people it does after easy treatment. But I've had it for 14 years and have tried pretty much everything to treat it. I've come the acknowledgement that keeping it under control and minimally affecting my life is the best I'll do.
I have it really bad on my scalp. None of the prescriptions are helping. Now I've got a few bald spots! Help!
