Vedangana Saini, Ph.D.

Vedangana Saini is a freelance medical writer, neuroscientist, and the founder of Intelligible Scientific Writing LLC. She holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience and a certificate in medical writing and editing from the University of Chicago. Dr. Saini specializes in writing science in plain language for patients, scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and designing educational material for continuing medical education for health professionals.

Dr. Saini has completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE, and Burke Neurological Institute, White Plains, NY. She has published original research and review articles and book chapters with more than 100 citations in respected, peer-reviewed journals such as Pharmacological Research, Journal of Neurochemistry, and Scientific Reports, among others.

Dr. Saini loves to coach undergraduate/graduate students and new medical writers on the nits and grits of medical writing and publishing. She lives in Columbia, Maryland, with her husband, her son, and one dog.
