Normal time to use the Ketoconazole cream is 4-6 weeks before you see any results. It didn’t help me until I added hydrocortisone and polysporin to ketoconazole cream.
Ketoconazole cream is anti fungal, for redness and inflammation you use a steroid like hydrocortisone. Limit your use of hydrocortisone and read instructions of using hydrocortisone.
Possible Reasons for Ineffectiveness
Incorrect Diagnosis
The redness might not be a fungal infection, which ketoconazole treats. Conditions like rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, or acne can present similarly.
Inconsistent Use
For the best results, it's crucial to apply the cream consistently and as directed. Missing applications can hinder progress.
Contact Dermatitis
Sometimes, the skin can react negatively to a product, leading to further irritation rather than improvement.
Severity of Condition
If the redness is severe, a stronger treatment or a combination of treatments might be necessary.
Next Steps
Consult a Dermatologist: They can provide a proper diagnosis and recommend an alternative treatment tailored to your specific condition.
Patch Test: Consider performing a patch test with any new skincare product to check for sensitivity.
Skincare Routine: Ensure your skincare routine is gentle and suitable for sensitive skin.
Monitor Triggers: Note any potential triggers that cause flare-ups, such as certain foods, skincare products, or environmental factors.
If possible, share more about any other symptoms or previous treatments you've tried, as this may help in finding a solution.
