Use the advice from above.
Gentle Cleansing
- Wash your eyelids every night with warm water and baby shampoo
- Use a cotton swab to gently wipe away scales or flakes
- Removing the scales is actually part of the treatment process
Warm Compresses
- Run a clean washcloth under warm water and place it over your eyes for a few minutes
- This helps loosen stubborn flakes and buildup
- Use a fresh, clean cloth each time
- After the compress, gently wipe away loosened scales with a cotton swab
Be Extra Gentle
The eye area has very sensitive skin, so avoid scrubbing or being too aggressive, which can cause more irritation. Important Considerations
While you're keeping your face clean (which is good), washing with salicylic acid multiple times daily might be too harsh for the delicate eye area and could be contributing to irritation. Consider limiting harsh products near your eyes.
The cold packs you're using can help with inflammation and burning, so continue those if they provide relief.
Oh no, I’m so sorry this is going on. That really sounds painful. I’m doing research now and will give you what I can find out. You need to be careful with what you put in or outside of the eyes. You and I both have very sensitive skin, so give me some time to research. My eye doctor prescribed neomycin and polymyxin B Sulfates and dexamethasone ointment which I’d a prescription for eye infections and swelling. It made my eye infection clear up completely.
Also, my cat got a scratch in one of her eyes and it swelled up. I put some of the ointment in and around her eye and it cleared up completely. Your description sounds awful painful and if I were you start with warm water cloth held over the affected eye and let the clean water bath the affected eye for a few minutes. Again, I know you’re trying very hard to rid yourself of this but you are making it worse. Using Salicylic acid, I’d stop using the strong stuff and use baby shampoo as the above suggested. Then as soon as you can get to your doctor.
You are irritating your skin and skin around your eyes, sounds like in your eyes too. I’m worried about you and your eyes. Please keep,us posted.
