Hi everyone 👋 I’m Yohan, a pharmacist and formulator who has personally dealt with seborrheic dermatitis for years — so I know exactly how unpredictable and frustrating it can be. Over time, I’ve built a simple routine that keeps my skin and scalp balanced without feeding Malassezia (the yeast behind SebDerm).

Here’s what my daily routine looks like:

Morning

1. Gentle cleanse: I start with lukewarm water and a mild, non-oily cleanser — nothing that leaves a residue or tight feeling.

2. Elixir application: I use a few drops of my Face & Scalp Elixir on damp skin. It combines natural antifungal and soothing ingredients like Dead Sea salt, Organic Sulfur, Birch sugar, Aloe Vera, urea, Niacinamide, tea tree oil, and thyme oil to calm redness and control flakes. It’s light enough to use under sunscreen or makeup.

3. Hydration: On drier days, I follow with a Malassezia-safe moisturizer — one that uses MCT oil instead of traditional plant oils (since those can feed the yeast). This helps restore the skin barrier without clogging pores.

4. Sunscreen: Always a must — ideally a mineral one with zinc oxide, which doubles as anti-inflammatory protection.

Scalp Care
I wash my scalp 2–3 times a week with a Ziziphus joazeiro–based shampoo. This botanical ingredient has shown impressive natural antifungal activity, and unlike harsh medicated shampoos, it doesn’t dry out the scalp or damage hair. I let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing to let it do its job.

🌙 Night Routine
At night, I simply cleanse again, apply the Elixir, and sometimes use a thin layer of the moisturizer if my skin feels tight or irritated. The goal is always the same — calm, balanced skin that feels clean but never stripped.

💬 If I can leave one piece of advice:
Less is more. Stick to gentle, microbiome-friendly ingredients, avoid heavy oils, and give your skin a consistent, soothing routine. Your skin will thank you for it.

I have been using these products for two weeks. I like them. They leave my face very clean feeling after washing my face with the Ecip Derma shampoo. You can use the shampoo as a face wash. The products have a good fragrance that is clean and you smell the herbs and plant bases. The plant based product is proved to work for most people. I use the Face and Scalp Elixir. The Gentle Moisturizer is one of the best I have used. I am one of those very sensitive people.
Yohan has helped me try the product. I do like it and honestly, I was not expecting it to do anything for my skin. It does help and my scalp and face look better by using the products. It is much better than the strong some of the strong prescription brands since I have very sensitive skin.
I think that staying on a routine of using the prescription sometimes but using EpicDerm mostly has helped though I go through my flairs. I try to keep my stress under control, but sometimes the stress takes over me. So I have breakouts like everyone else.
As far as the healing from known plant remedies, it is better than anything I have used. I am very grateful for our friend and fellow Seb derm member, pharmacist and co owner of EricDerm, Yohan Martinez on our team. Like all of us, he too suffered a long time without getting relief from Seb derm. He started mixing the natural way, getting back to plant medicine, much like the Asian and South American using the ways of our ancestors and the knowledge of how plants help our immune systems, heal a stubborn illness like seb derm, Malassezia and many other conditions.
My great grandfather was a healer with plants and my family were use to using plant based known plants for everything. He was half Cherokee.

It may take longer than you’d like but fallow your routine with some really good treatments and products. I may respond to different products, where you may not. We are all genetically made up different in healing and recovery may take longer. Work and talk to folks who have this condition. Make some life long friends right on this support group asking questions and educating yourself will help you.
