Wash your hair every day when you have a flare up and rotate medicated shampoos is what I was told by a derm.

That is what Head and Shoulders has in it, and it can relieve it for a little while, but no cure.

This shampoo has been a GAME CHANGER for me. My scalp was about as worst case you could imagine. Seborrhea dermatitis is fungal in nature (Malassezia yeast). This shampoo has no chemicals or irritants and it's for pets and humans. It is super concentrated, so I use about a dime size twice a week making sure to put directly on my scalp. I use about a quarter size on my Golden Retriever about once a month (cleared his itching up immediately). I bought it in July and I'm just now starting the second bottle! There are a few other products for skin as well that work in the same way killing the fungal infection. Use the link above and we both get a discount. But more importantly, it works.

Jackie, I have SD on the scalp as well. It is on my hairline all the time; from ear to ear. Also including the ears, forehead and eyebrows. My scalp is bone dry! Washing my hair has to be limited to 2x per week. Water is not my friend. It just drys my whole body out. I think I have it on my legs too. I first thought it was just dry skin, but now it actually has scales. I use Bond for diabetics or Dove's Deep Moisture "for the driest skin. " What shampoo do you use? I am experimenting with 5 or 6 new ones. Jason's Tea Tree Oil is ok, but I am impatient and want it to remove all the scales and it doesn't. Nothing will! Tomorrow I am trying Dove Dermacare Scalp. It's for dryness and itch relief. It has Pyrithione Zinc in it. We'll see. I'll report if it seems like a winner. Do you use any oil on your scalp? Good luck!
