Type Of Hair Coloring You May Use
A MySebDermTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone still use hair coloring to dye your hair? I’ve just been diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis last year. So far I haven’t found any hair color product I can use. I end up with my scalp burning and itching. Help me please

Hi. Goldwell Nectaya is ammonia free and made for sensitive scalps. Just got hair colored for the first time since December and I am happy to say it went well. I was nervous but my stylist said the Nectaya is a great product...and she was right. Best to you.

I understand your frustration! I haven't gotten my hair colored since the end of December. I have been in treatment since January and have an appointment scheduled end of April. I'm nervous! Having follow up with Dermatologist beforehand. Going to ask about using the ketaconazole shampoo and if the topical solution is warranted. I'll let you know!

I'm thinking the ph level on the scalp isn't normal cuz I had the same problem and had to dye my hair 2 times and still not exactly what it should have been. Also if you put like a little barrier around your scalp with Vaseline or face lotion. They also make a stick you can use. Nothing against Sally's (not my jam) you can get sensitive developer there also. I usually test the color on my eyebrows and if it burns with that small amount of time, I won't do it.

Thank you, I will do some checking up on this product. It would be great if this would work for me.

My dermatologist said as long as it wasn’t weeping (I had open ulcers the size of quarters) it was fine. I’ve waited as long as I can. I’m doing a box with mostly natural products, no ammonia. Very little burning and hasn’t caused any loss or breakage. Just did it today. But I’ve been on Dupixent since December.
